Estepona council has approved a municipal ordinance that will force owners of dilapidated buildings to maintain them to guarantee the public's safety and improve the town's image.

If owners don't comply, the town hall will include the property on its municipal register. If after one year there is no progress, procedures will be started to force the sale to the town hall which will use the land for social use.
