Under previous arrangements, letters and parcels took a roundabout route via Dublin and Malaga

Incoming mail will no longer have to take a roundabout route to reach Gibraltar from the UK, thanks to the government's Brexit contingency planning.

A new agreement with Royal Mail means letters and parcels will now be delivered directly to Gibraltar on a special flight, instead of being flown from London to Malaga via Dublin and then driven by road.

This will considerably shorten the time it takes for mail to reach Gibraltar.
