The Norwegian company Fonnafly will be starting helicopter flights around Gibraltar on 1 May, as an added attraction for tourists, especially cruise passengers. The company, which began operating in Norway in 2004, will be deploying one EC130 helicopter with seven passenger seats, and two pilots to Gibraltar and the service will be based at the airport.
The sightseeing trip will last between 10 and 15 minutes, and after flying around the Rock in one direction the pilot will then turn around and reverse direction so passengers on both sides of the helicopter can enjoy the same views. Fonnafly is hoping to expand the helicopter service in the future and offer 'taxi' flights to Malaga Airport from Gibraltar.
