An exhibition of drawings and paintings by Argentinian artist Luz Ortiz de Rosa is currently on show at the Casa de Cultura in Fuengirola.

Cuerdas de Viento con Máscaras is inspired by the artist's family, especially her five children, who are the main protagonists of the collection. The 55-year-old artist also paints rural, marine and urban landscapes, and her distinctive styles are executed in charcoal and vibrant acrylics.

Born into a family of artists in Buenos Aires in 1966, the artist was encouraged by her mother from an early age and she went on to study at the School of Fine Arts in Santa Ana.

Luz, who currently lives in Bella Vista, took time out during the 1990s to raise her family, but in 2001, she resumed painting and drawing, specialising in portraits and still life.

The exhibition, which is free, can be viewed until 26 February between 10am and 3pm from Monday to Friday.
