Malaga had to settle for a disappointing draw after their game away to bottom-of-the-league Albacete on Sunday.
With the scores level at one goal a piece, it wasn't a lack of ambition that lost the visitors the full three points, but rather their lack of precision in attack.
Malaga had the game under control during the first half, despite mistakes from Cristian close to halftime. In attack the visitors needed a higher gear they found hard to find.
In the second half, both sides had clear opportunities to score, but more due to their opponents' mistakes rather than their own merits. Malaga took the lead three minutes into the half when Jairo put the ball past Tomeu Nadal.
The lead lasted no more than a couple of minutes, however; in minute 53, an error led the way to a penalty that Albacete made the most of to level the scores.
