The disappearance of eight-year-old Gabriel Cruz in February 2018 in a village near Almeria shocked Spain. Ana Julia Quezada, the girlfriend of the boy's father was caught with the child's body in her car boot and confessed to the crime.
Her trial began in Almería this week, where the verdict will be decided by the uncommon use of a jury.
