Other people's investments have proven more profitable than those of the wealthiest Spaniard in the world, Amancio Ortega, the owner of Inditex. He has dropped to fourth place on the Forbes list with a capital of $71.3 billion, or 66.3 billion euros.
There has been no problem with Ortega's investments, such as his 59% share in Inditex, as his wealth has increased by 6.4 per cent in the past year. However, other fortunes now outweigh his, such as those of Warren Buffet ($75.6 billion), in second place on the list, and Amazon boss Jeff Bezos ($72.8 billion), who is third. The richest man in the world is still Microsoft president Bill Gates, with $86 billion.
