Casualty at the new Guadalhorce hospital has seen to 186,000 patients so far

Over 186,000 patients have been seen in the Emergency department at the Guadalhorce hospital since it opened four years ago, the regional health service has said.

The average daily rate has been rising in 2020 and is now about 130 patients.

Of the total, some 15,000 have been kept under observation.

Casualty personnel at the local hospital have transferred 4,000 of the patients to other specialist centres in the Malaga area over the same four-year period.
