British broadcaster Channel 4 is to film the popular reality TV programme A Place In The Sun in a number of villages in the Axarquía, the Axarquía Film Office announced on Wednesday.

In a press release, the film office said that filming in Canillas de Aceituno, Periana, Almáchar, La Viñuela and Alcaucín has been confirmed, with the possibility of other places being added to the list.

Manager of the Axarquía Film Office, Juan Peñas, said the programme will provide "a unique opportunity for the promotion of the Axarquía - Costa del Sol".
