The construction of a footbridge across the mouth of the Guadalhorce river in Malaga is reaching its final stage. The entire construction will be concluded before the end of the month, said a city-hall source.
The central walkway, the largest part of the bridge at 66 metres in length, was installed on Tuesday with the help of a thousand-tonne specialist crane. This part is made exclusively from wood and is the longest of its kind in Spain.
The bridge, which crosses a nature reserve, will make getting around simpler for the hundreds of walkers, runners and cyclists who frequent the area each day.
