  • A motored yacht was allegedly being used by the group to traffic 1,500 kilos of hashish from Morocco to Spain

Four British nationals have been arrested by national police for their alleged involvement in a drug trafficking scheme operating in Marbella.

Some 1,500 kilos of hashish were seized by police, following a meticulous search of a motored yacht moored in Marbella's marina. More than 100,000 euros in cash was discovered, stashed away in a secret compartment on the yacht, alongside 51 bags of the drug.

The ring of drug traffickers allegedly had been using the yacht to transport the illegal substance from the coast of Morocco to Spain. Police began their investigation following reports of a criminal organisation operating in Marbella, and took three of the crewmen by surprise when docking in the port.

Investigation has revealed that the Brits, who had been living in Guadalmina, enjoyed a high-quality lifestyle, frequenting restaurants and driving top-of-the-range cars.
