The mayors of the neighbouring municipalities of Torremolinos and Benalmádena still haven't made progress on the plans for a new bridge over the El Saltillo stream bed in the La Leala area.
The bridge would link this part of the two districts and stop local traffic having to make a detour along busy main roads.
Although both mayors promised the bridge in their 2015 election campaigns, Torremolinos says that it cannot pay its half as it has other investment priorities at the moment.
So far not even the plan has been drawn up.
