Fundraising horse racing night for butterfly children

More than 400 euros was raised at a charity horse race night held in Biddy Mulligans Bar in La Cala de Mijas on Tuesday. The event was organised by Black Tower Financial Services to raise funds for Debra España, the Marbella-based association that improves the quality of life of people that suffer with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) - 'butterfly children'.
The event, which consisted of ten races, included a free raffle that offered several prizes, including a sailing trip for four people, beauty vouchers and romantic dinners, while several bottles of Bollinger champagne were auctioned to boost the funds.
Organiser, Ian Scholes, was overwhelmed with the outcome of the evening and he is already making plans for another race night on behalf of Debra España in November.
"It was a fun evening and generous people raised 428 euros for Debra. I am overwhelmed by the amount raised in such a short time. All proceeds will go to help improve the quality of life of the butterfly children ," Ian explained.
