Baroness Carmen Thyssen was in Estepona earlier this week to open a garden in the town's Orchid Park that has been named in her honour.
Thyssen and the mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, uncovered the plaque inscribed with 'Jardines de Carmen Thyssen'. The mayor thanked the baroness for her support and her work and respect for the environment and culture.
This is only her second visit to the town; the first was last year to find out about the project to improve the area which included the Orchid Park and gardens that now carry her name.
Baroness Thyssen has an large collection of orchids of her own and has confirmed that she intends to bring some works of art from her vast collection to the town to be displayed in the newly-opened Museo de Arte de la Diputación Provincial (MAD).
After the unveiling the baroness was taken on a tour of the town.
