This is the new 2022 vaccination schedule for Andalucía

The main addition to the calendar is the Bexsero vaccine against meningococcus B, which will be available free from 1 December, 2021

The Junta de Andalucía has announced the new vaccination calendar for 2022 in the region, that will start at the end of 2021.

The main novelty is the inclusion of vaccination against meningococcus, with the Bexsero vaccine, in the calendar for children, with a three-dose schedule (at 2 months, 4 months and 15 months). This meningitis vaccine will begin to be administered from 1 December, 2021 to babies born after 1 October, 2021.

Until now some 55 per cent of young children in Andalucía were being vaccinated with this vaccine, which was an extra cost for families. Now, with its introduction in the vaccination calendar, it is estimated that around 65,000 children a year will be able to benefit from it being free, points out the Junta de Andalucía.

This regional government’s new vaccination schedule includes vaccines that protect against the following diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, poliomyelitis, hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenzae type b, conjugated pneumococcus, meningococcus B, meningococcus serogroup C, measles, rubella, mumps, chickenpox, human papillomavirus and flu. It also includes vaccination of pregnant women (prenatal vaccination), with flu and pertussis vaccines.
