One of the most interesting ítems in the survey is how the mothers obtain extra information about motherhood: it appears to be from the internet and social media sites. About 71 % of first-time mothers usually look for information on the internet, 28.5 % from social media and only five per cent from television. The percentage varies slightly between experienced mothers: 68 % look on the internet and 21 % in specialist publications.
To sum up, the authors of the report concluded that "the process of assistance between pediatricians and parents is long and complex. It should begin in the prenatal stage and should aim to treat illnesses and keep the child healthy within the context of the family. Parents and pediatricians should bear in mind the biological, psychological and environmental aspects to ensure security, wellbeing and good health."
