A bakery with 137 years of history

The Hermanos Guerrero bakery in Benalauría is about to celebrate its 137th anniversary and is still run by the Guerrero family, now in its fourth generation.

The bakery first opened its doors in 1882 when Miguel Guerrero decided to celebrate the christening of one of his sons by making his oven available for neighbours to use. Every year on the Tuesday of Holy week, villagers keep up the tradition by taking items to be baked in the original oven.
