A shooting incident has been reported in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol, when three young Swedish people were allegedly fired at when they were leaving a hostess club in the town. According to SUR sources one of them was hit by a bullet in the stomach and is in very serious condition in a Malaga hospital.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning at around 3am when a caller alerted the 112 emergency services that he had heard several shots being fired in Calle Juan Balbuena Marfil.
When National Police officers arrived at the scene they found two injured people. The most serious was a 29-year-old Swedish national who had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and he was rushed to the Regional Hospital in Malaga city due to the serious nature of his injury. He was admitted to the intensive care unit and sources reported that he was operated on to remove the bullet.
The second injured person, also Swedish, is 18 years old. Apparently, he broke a wrist while fleeing from his attackers.
National Police officers have opened an investigation to clarify what happened. Sources have said that the two victims, along with a third young man, formed a group that was attacked when they left the hostess club and went to get a car.
So far there have been no arrests.
