Fuengirola hopes to create the atmosphere of the Davis Cup with a street tennis day held in Plaza de España this Saturday, 28 October.
Organised by the town hall, a series of fun matches for the whole family will take place from 12.30pm on two mini tennis courts that will be installed in the square specially for the occasion. There will also be a tournament with prizes of discounts to the finals of the Davis Cup, which are taking place in the Martín Carpena sports complex in Malaga between 21 and 26 November.
The sports initiative was announced this week by councillor for sport, Julio Rodríguez, who said, “Unfortunately, Spain is not in this final, but Finland will be there. Fuengirola has more than 5,000 residents from Finland, so it will be very important for them. For this reason, we want to give visibility to the world of tennis in our municipality, where we have first-class facilities and a municipal tennis school."
