A charity golf tournament to raise funds for three Malaga NGOs has been organised to take place at the La Cala Golf Resort in Mijas on Saturday 11 December. The aim of the tournament is to jointly address the economic losses suffered due to the Covid-19 crisis by raising funds for the Cudeca Cancer Hospice; DEBRA, a charity that cares for children with butterfly skin; and the Ronald McDonald Foundation, which was created to provide free accommodation to children receiving medical treatment away from home.

Message of solidarity

The economic and social consequences of the pandemic have affected many charitable organisations on the Costa del Sol, and most had seen their income drastically reduced by the suspension of fundraising events and the closure of their charity shops. It is for this reason that the three NGOs came together to launch a message of union and solidarity.

"We are dedicated to tasks that are very serious and necessary. All three charities work in the health sector, with vulnerable groups, and all three of us have gone through the same situation. That is why we want to convey to the families that we will remain united in order to continue caring for them and to let them know that they will not be alone or unprotected,” Cudeca spokesperson Esther Ráez said.

The Stableford Individual tournament will be held from 8.30am on the prestigious America course. Registration costs 65 euros, which includes a shared buggy and light lunch, and can be made via email, info@debra.es, or by telephone on 674 11 19 52.
