Marbella Local Police will continue to monitor victims of gender violence

Marbella Local Police will continue to monitor and protect female victims of gender violence, after the town hall gave the green light to the renewal of the VioGén agreement.

This agreement is signed with the National Police force, which strengthens collaboration in this area.

Public safety councillor José Eduardo Díaz highlighted "the involvement, professionalism and sensitivity of the municipal officers, who have been carrying out fundamental work for years through the specialised unit".

"This is a renewal of the agreement signed in 2020, but the Local Police have been taking care of the victims of gender violence for practically 15 or 20 years," added the councillor. He also stressed the importance of the unit in charge of this task and the “countless commendable interventions” and commendations received by Marbella’s municipal officers “for their special dedication and the thoroughness and professionalism shown in the monitoring and protection” of the victims.

VioGén is a comprehensive monitoring system created by the Government to establish a network that allows for the rapid, comprehensive and effective monitoring and protection of abused women and their children.
