National police investigate early hours shooting near seafront after victim is discovered with two gunshot wounds

A man has been found dead in the street in Marbella after he was shot in the stomach.
The 33-year-oldās body was discovered around 2.15am this morning.
Police said today he had two gunshot wounds to his āabdominal area".
They say they are not naming the street where he was found, which is thought to be near to the seafront, and his nationality has not yet been officially released.
The National Police in Malaga said: āThe National Police have opened an investigation to clarify the homicide in Marbella of a 33-year-old man, found early this morning with two gunshot wounds to the abdominal area.
āThe victim was found dead around 2.20am in a public area, with the corresponding judicial protocol being activated after medical personnel confirmed the person's death.
"Officers assigned to the Specialised and Violent Crime Unit (UDEV) of the National Police Station in Marbella have taken charge of the investigation to fully clarify the facts.ā
The murdered man was initially thought to have been the victim of a hit-and-run before it emerged he had been shot.
Sources are saying they do not believe the shooting is related to organised crime at this stage.
