Beneficial insects released to fight pests

Marbella town hall has introduced 'beneficial insects' into its parks and gardens to help fight against some of the less aggressive horticultural pests, and thus reduce the amount of chemical sprays required considerably. The main pests faced are the red palm weevil, the processionary caterpillar, for public health reasons, and the molasses-producing insects.
