Waiter hospitalised following Benalmádena wedding food poisoning has been discharged
He was the only one affected still in hospital following the salmonellosis incident that 40 people reported
The waiter who was hospitalised following the wedding in Benalmádena, at which 40 people got food poisoning due to salmonella, has now been discharged.
He is still, however, undergoing a course of antibiotics. "The diarrhoea hasn't gone away. I also need to regain my strength because it's true that my whole body aches and I get tired very quickly," the waiter said. He prefers to remain anonymous.
He had dinner at the wedding buffet for the staff on Saturday evening. On Sunday, he went to the A&E and was admitted to Malaga's Clínico hospital on Monday.

The wedding in question took place at the iconic Estival Torrequebrada hotel: a four-star establishment that has been open since 1988. The reception began at 2pm and the meal was served around 60 minutes later. There were around 80 guests at the event, half of whom felt unwell either on Saturday night or Sunday morning.
The waiter was the one who shed light on the root cause of the incident, as he had only eaten the meat with sauce hollandaise, which, like mayonnaise, is an emulsion made from egg yolks and clarified butter. Subsequent tests determined that salmonella was the bacterium responsible for this spate of cases.
