Benalmádena will combine sport and charity next Friday 28 August, with the sixth annual ‘solidarity walk’ organised by the Luna Llena association in partnership with Benalmádena town hall.

The walk will set off at 8pm from Route 1 of the Cañada del Lobo trail. Participants are asked to bring donations of non-perishable food and secondhand clothing, which will be given to El Vuelo de las Libélulas, a local association that helps families experiencing economic or social vulnerability.

This year’s event will also raise money through the sale of T-shirts, priced at 20 euros, and all proceeds will go to the ABAD association to help support the development of its new centre for people with disabilities.

The evening will include a number of activities, including telescope stargazing, music and prize draws.

The councillor thanked the Luna Llena association for its “hard work and commitment” in organising the event and urged people to take part. He said the walk offers an opportunity to support two organisations “carrying out important work in the local community”.
