Rincón to host reforestation event as part of its environmental education programme

The activity will take place in the El Cantal park with the planting of 200 trees and aromatic plants

Rincón de la Victoria town hall will be holding a reforestation activity in El Cantal park on 28 November as part of its annual environmental education programme.

Environment councillor, Borja Ortiz, said earlier this month that the event would be "open to all residents" and that they would be "planting 200 native species including carob, holm oak and wild olive trees as well as aromatic plants such as rosemary, thyme and lavender." The event will start at 10.30am and finish at 1pm with refreshments for all participants.

The mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado, said, “This type of event is designed to raise awareness among the population, especially among children, about caring for the environment and the fight against climate change, as well as improving our town’s environment."

Those interested in taking part should register by email: or by calling: 626793465. The meeting point for the activity will be at the roundabout at Avenida de los Pintores and Calle Lope de Rueda.
