Almost fifty years after it was raided by police and some 139 people were arrested, Pasaje Begoña in Torremolinos, a passageway of mostly bars that had become a refuge for the LGBT+ community during the Franco dictatorship, has been declared a Place of Tourist Interest by the Junta de Andalucía.
In recent times, the area described as "an example of freedom and respect" has been partly renovated with the aim of becoming a tourist and cultural attraction.
