Doing some structural improvements or a bit of building work at home should be less complicated from now on in Fuengirola.
The final council meeting of 2019 approved a change to a planning bylaw that will allow people to start their building work simply by declaring it to the council.
The rule change applies to work which has a cost under 30,000 euros excluding IVA and where any third parties, such as neighbours, who are affected have given their written permission first.
The process, known as a "declaración responsable" (responsible declaration) requires certain documentation to be in place to take effect.
