Hospital Costa del Sol, setting an example in pain relief
The hospital in Marbella has received the title of "centre against pain" in a quality healthcare study

The Costa del Sol hospital's oncohematology day centre has been named one of Andalucía's 'Centros Contra el Dolor' (centres against pain) in the category of pain associated with healthcare procedures.
The titles are awarded as part of the Patient Safety Observatory drawn up by the Andalusian Health Quality Agency.
The centre had to meet 51 criteria ranging from information given to the patients about pain management, training and assessment of healthcare professionals to patient monitoring.
Marbella hospital sources said that the distinction was the result of the daily efforts of all the professionals to improve the quality of life of patients through pain management.
The centre has also been named a 'Centro Mentor', which sets it apart as a example for other hospitals to follow.
