A 33-year-old local man was arrested by the Royal Gibraltar Police earlier this week on suspicion of the murder of Michael Montegriffo (58), who was found lying on the ground by Gavino's Dwellings in Prince Edward Road in the morning of 7 July 2018. He was taken to St Bernard's Hospital, and died a few hours later.
The police say the suspect has now been released on bail, pending further enquiries, and they are urging people to come forward and provide any information, however insignificant it may seem, in relation to the day in question. This can be done online via www.police.gi/report/seen-heard or by phoning 20072500.
