Gibraltar adds six countries to Covid Red List

Passengers who have been in Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa or Zimbabwe in the last ten days may not enter Gibraltar from today due to reports of a new and concerning variant of the virus

Gibraltar has just added six countries to its Covid Red List with immediate effect, in response to reports of a new Covid-19 variant of concern in those countries.

It means that nobody may enter Gibraltar if they have been in Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa or Zimbabwe in the ten days before travelling to Gibraltar, unless they are in one of the exemption categories specified in the Technical Notice Covid-19 – Testing and Self-isolation Requirements for Entry into Gibraltar.

The Minister for Civil Contingencies, Samantha Sacramento, says the Gibraltar government is continually monitoring the global situation and evidence regarding Covid-19 and will move quickly, on Public Health advice, to implement any necessary safeguards that are deemed appropriate and proportionate.

Passengers should continue to check travel guidance including before, during and after travel to keep to date with entry requirements and ensure compliance with the latest rules.
