Former police commissioner Ian McGrail was arrested on Thursday 23 March reportedly in connection with a public enquiry regarding a data breach. McGrail's sudden early retirement during a major investigation in 2020 came as a surprise to many in Gibraltar as he was only two years into the post, and he has since claimed that he was pressurised to stand down.
