Andalucía starts the week with rain, accompanied by temperature drop
Huelva and Seville are under storm warnings
Rain is set to return to at least two provinces in Andalucía this week. The Aemet state meteorological agency is forecasting rainfall in the western ... third of the region and a drop in temperatures across much of the interior areas.
In some areas, the rain may be heavy. This has triggered yellow warnings in the provinces of Seville and Huelva, where the rainfall could reach up to 20mm in an hour.
The warnings came into effect at midnight and will remain in place until at least 11am. In Huelva, the warning concerns the areas of Aracena, Andévalo, Condado and Litoral. In Seville, it covers the Sierra Norte and the Seville countryside.
Malaga province expects no rainfall on Monday and temperatures will be similar to those at the weekend, with some cloudy spells.
In the rest of Andalucía, the western half will see very cloudy skies on Monday, with light to moderate rainfall, which will be heavier and more frequent towards the west, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms.
Elsewhere, in the afternoon, there will be periods of cloudy skies, with the possibility of occasional thunderstorms in the mountain ranges of the far east. Aemet also forecasts a slight presence of airborne dust in the south-east of the region.
