Socialists remember historic 1982 election victory

Past and present prime ministers gathered at a rally in Seville to mark the occasion

The current prime minister, Pedro Sánchez of the PSOE-Socialist party, greeted former PM Felipe González to a major rally in Seville last Sunday which marked 40 years since that party's landslide election win, their first one ever. González is seen as the most successful Spanish leader since the return of democracy and went on to govern until 1996.
