Mijas offers personalised service to youngsters interested in exchange programmes

Mijas has launched a European youth information and advice point, an initiative that provides information and personalised guidance to young people who are interested in volunteering projects or exchange programmes.
‘Eurodesk’ is an information point specifically aimed at young people aged between 14 and 31. It offers a wide range of information about volunteering projects and youth exchanges, encouraging mobility across Europe through various existing programmes, such as Erasmus+.
The aim is to promote initiatives related to healthy lifestyles, multiculturalism, culture, sport, the environment, inclusion, social integration and diversity.
“All of this will take place through the meeting of young people from different nationalities, cultures, ways of thinking and social backgrounds, within the framework of a European youth exchange or volunteering activity,” youth councillor Melisa Ceballos explained.
The programme will have a duration of one year, with the possibility of extending it for two additional years, and the service is scheduled to begin next Monday 6 April at the youth department of the town hall.
