Fuengirola town hall has installed a multi-game children’s play area complete with a gigantic figure of a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the recently renovated Parque Natural de Fuengirola. The 12,000-square-metre park, which is now in its final phase, has been undergoing a comprehensive reform process for several months to become the town’s new 'green lung'.
Mayor, Ana Mula, visited the park this week, saying, “it will be a spectacular park, which children will love”.
The children's play area where the dinosaur is located will be called 'El nido del dino' (dinosaur's nest) and will consist of tunnels, slides and insect-like swings. In addition, it will offer other activities for both children and the whole family, such as a 20-metre zip line that will cross part of the enclosure, a play area with musical elements, seesaws and two large slides, which are currently being installed on the slope next to the Paseo Fluvial.
Other attractions will be the creation of a central square to celebrate events, and a picnic area with barbecues.
Mula said that the project will also include the revitalisation of the surrounding vegetation, with the planting of new trees and shrubs.
The project has a budget of 2,470,077.07 euros, which will be financed with the surplus of the municipal financial year of 2021.
