Man wanted in connection with drug trafficking arrested at Malaga Airport

National Police officers have arrested a 34-year-old man at Malaga Airport who is wanted by the French authorities in connection with drug trafficking charges.

The individual was detained at the Costa del Sol airport, under a European arrest warrant, when he was about to board a flight to Morocco on 18 November.

According to the authorities the fugitive was one of the main heads of a criminal network dedicated to the supply of drugs in a central district of Paris.

The detainee, who is being held in custody, could face a ten-year prison sentence when he is deported back to France.
