National Police officers have opened an investigation after the discovery of a dead body in the cab of a lorry at a fuel service station in Antequera.
The alarm was initially raised this Wednesday morning, 1 December, when at around 8.30am the 112 Andalucía emergency service control room received a call from worried relatives of a 43-year-old lorry driver to report him missing. According to sources he had left Malaga on Tuesday, heading in the direction of Seville but had not been heard from since.
The details of the man and his lorry were passed to police patrols and the vehicle was located shortly afterwards, at around 10.45 am. The man was found dead inside the cab of the lorry, which was parked at a fuel service station at kilometre 3.3 of the AP-46 in Antequera.
After the discovery of the body, National Police officers took charge of the investigation to clarify the circumstances of the death. The first indications suggest there were are no signs of violence and the body has now been transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) in Malaga, where an autopsy will be performed.
