Malaga's iconic Larios statue taken away

Early on Tuesday morning Malaga city centre said goodbye to the famous bronze statue of the Marquis of Larios. But the move will only be temporary.

He has been taken away for restoration and will be returned to a new plinth a few metres away from his old one.

The move is because of the pedestrianisation of the north side of the city's Alameda boulevard as part of the metro extension.
