Health authorities across Andalucía have informed the Spanish agency for food safety and nutrition (Aesan) of a food alert due to the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in a batch of smoked Norwegian salmon from the Skandia brand.

The product concerned is batch number 361214 of Skandia smoked Norwegian salmon with an expiry date of 13 April 2026. The refrigerated product is sold in 80-gram plastic blister packs. This product is sold in this format in various supermarkets such as Carrefour, Alcampo and Día.

Anyone with this product at home should not consume it. However, if you have eaten any of the products from the affected batch and experience symptoms consistent with listeriosis (vomiting, diarrhoea or fever), the recommendation is to seek medical attention at your local health centre.

Pregnant women are advised to consult Aesan guidelines on food hygiene practices during pregnancy, as well as a list of foods to avoid while pregnant due to their association with certain biological hazards (including Listeria monocytogenes).
