The Junta de Andalucía will invest 150 million euros over the next few years to improve the forest fighting resources of the regional government's specialist Plan Infoca brigade, the Andalusian minister of the presidency Antonio Sanz announced.

The investment is earmarked for making infrastructures more modern, where 30 million euros will go towards the new forest defence centres in Cazorla (Jaén), Algodonales (Cadiz) and El Pedroso (Seville), as well as the aerodrome at La Resinera (Granada) and the airstrip at Villaviciosa (Cordoba), currently out to tender.

In addition to this investment, another 24 million euros is planned for this year and 2025, meaning that "in six years we will have invested more than 55 million euros in Plan Infoca infrastructures", the minister pointed out.
