The Andalucía region has this Friday, 5 August, registered a total of 2,402 new cases of coronavirus since last Tuesday, of which 1,338 have occurred in people over 60, bringing the total number of infections in the region to 1,587,643 since the start of the pandemic. The number of deaths has increased by 72, the highest figure since March 2021, to reach 14,805.
This has been indicated by the Junta's Ministry of Health in the statement on Covid-19 released this Friday, where it has also reported that the region has registered 39 fewer hospitalised patients than last Tuesday, so that the figure stands at 516, while admissions to intensive care units have fallen by one to 25.
With regarding to the current cumulative incidence rate of coronavirus infections in Andalucía in the last 14 days in people over 60 years of age, this has dropped to 226.64 per 100,000 inhabitants, down some 32.84 compared to four days ago.
