Andalucía adds 868 new coronavirus infections and five Covid deaths

In the last 24 hours the number of patients admitted to an intensive care unit in the region has risen by 12 to 69


The Andalucía region has this Wednesday, 1 December, registered a total of 868 new coronavirus infections in 24 hours, fewer than those of Tuesday (915) but more than last Wednesday (725). In addition, the Junta has also confirmed five more coronavirus deaths, compared to the two on Tuesday and the two last Wednesday.

The latest data from the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography (IECA), shows that the 14-day incidence rate has increased by 0.8 points in the past day and the coronavirus is found in 105.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, also higher than the 76.8 on the same day last week.

The 868 Covid-19 cases this Wednesday are reported after the 915 on Tuesday, 883 on Monday and Sunday, 741 on Saturday, 1,045 on Friday, 983 on Thursday and 783 last Wednesday.

Seville is the province with the most positives with 167, followed by Malaga with 146, Cordoba (128), Cadiz (119), Huelva (109), Jaén (70), Almeria with 65 and Granada with 64.

Deaths and hospital pressure

Regarding the five coronavirus deaths, one was registered in Cadiz province, one in Malaga and three in Seville.

The region has seen the number of patients hospitalised by Covid-19 rise by 14 compared to Tuesday to reach a total of 294, while the number of patients admitted to an intensive care unit has risen by 12 to 69.
