Licences for horse-drawn carriages to be withdrawn in Marbella

The days of the horse-drawn carriages in Marbella are numbered. The local council has approved a plan to withdraw the licences, compensating around a dozen of the 19 permit holders 30,500 euros each before the end of the year.

The council has said that having horse-drawn carriages in the town was incompatible with its pedestrianisation plans and that the carriages were not as popular with tourists anymore.
