The national government has been giving details of its revised plans for getting schoolchildren back into the classroom in September.

The new proposals include all classes returning after the summer, and not a combination with homeworking as originally thought.

For pupils under 10, wearing a facemask wouldn't be a requirement and they wouldn't have to socially distance while seated in class, the Education Minister, Isabel Celaá, said this week.

Those over 10 would need to keep desks 1.5 metres apart and wear masks in classes of up to 20.

Bakc-to-school dates

The Andalusian Education authority approved the dates for the coming school year this week. In the province of Malaga primary schools start back on 10 September and secondary schools and professional training colleges begin on 15 September
