Owner of Marbella FC one of 11 arrested in operation against Russian mafia
Guardia Civil raids and arrests in Marbella and Mijas on Tuesday are part of an inquiry into the laundering of 30 million euros through the football club and the firm Agua de Mijas

A Guardia Civil operation against organised crime linked to Russia led to raids and arrests at different points of the Costa del Sol on Tuesday morning. Searches were carried out by several units backed up by a helicopter.
Eleven arrests have been confirmed, among them the owner of Agua de Mijas and one of his assistants, as well as the owner of Marbella FC, Alexander Grinberg.
One of the raids took place at the offices of Marbella Fútbol Club, located in the municipal stadium, and the offices of the firm Agua de Mijas. Both companies are owned by Russian nationals.
The property of Alexander Grinberg has also been searched, according to sources consulted by SUR.
