There are cured meats from Benaoján, cakes from Antequera, olives from Álora, olive oil from Periana... yes, once again this year the Paseo del Parque in Malaga city has become a spectacular food market where visitors can discover the thousand and one flavours of the province.

SABOR A MÁLAGA FAIR

  • Where. Malaga. Stalls are in the Paseo del Parque; activities will be in the Eduardo Ocón auditorium.

  • When. The fair opened on Thursday and continues until Monday 9 December. It is open from noon until 10pm.

  • Stands. There are 119 producers from 43 towns and villages in Malaga province.

Over 100 producers from different areas have stands at the Gran Feria Sabor a Málaga, which is taking place over this holiday weekend and is a very special way of bringing this year's programme of fairs to an end.

The fair started on Thursday (5 December) with the official inauguration in the Eduardo Ocón auditorium, and will continue until Monday. As well as the stalls, around 40 activities have been organised, including cookery demonstrations by local chefs, presentations of products, workshops and tasting sessions.

Juan Carlos Maldonado, who is first vice-president and responsible for Sustainable Economic Development at the Diputación de Malaga (the provincial government), said that for this seventh edition of the fair, the Diputación has set itself the objective of strengthening the links between Sabor a Málaga and the hotel and restaurant sector in the province. "We believe that this sector is the one that has the closest association with local products, and the one that should use them most," he said.

This year's programme includes some unusual attractions, such as the preparation of the biggest 'Ensaladilla Malagueña' in the world, with more than 400 kilos of ingredients.
