Festival of Legends brings Dire Straits' music to Benalmádena

The Brothers in Band tribute show has been endorsed by Dire Straits' guitarist Mark Knopfler

A tribute concert at the municipal auditorium in Benalmádena will present a night of the music of legendary rock band Dire Straits on Friday 10 September. Part of the Festival of Legends cycle, the concert will be performed by Brothers in Band, a Spanish tribute group that recreates the huge repertoire of songs of Mark Knopfler's band from 1978 until its dissolution at the beginning of the 90s.

Brothers in Band have been performing their tribute to one of the biggest British rock bands of the 80s for more than 12 years, taking their show to Germany, France, Luxembourg and Portugal. The eight-piece band are currently in the middle of a Spanish tour, which will take them to Seville, Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Mallorca.

Considered the best Dire Straits tribute band, (the show has been endorsed by Mark Knopfler), the concert will present some of the band's most celebrated hits, including Sultans of Swing, Romeo and Juliet, Money for Nothing and Telegraph Road.

The band have built a reputation on their ability to reproduce the unique stripped-down sound of Dire Straits, a group that spent more than 1,100 weeks on the UK album charts and sold over one million records worldwide.

The concert in Benalmádena, which starts at 8pm, will also present guest support band Elosphera, a tribute to The Electric Light Orchestra.
