Malaga gears up to host new-look winter Jazz Festival

The series of concerts will present some of the most formidable jazz musicians in Malaga from Saturday 19 until Sunday 27 December

Malaga. Lovers of jazz will enjoy the modified version of the Malaga Jazz Festival, which will take place at various outdoor locations in Malaga from Saturday 19 until Sunday 27 December.

The line-up of artists includes some of genre's most formidable musicians, including Suzette Moncrief, Anachronic, Alicia Tamariz, The Belle McNulty Quartet, Ana Cisneros and the Pareja Quartet.

The series of free concerts begins this Saturday with a performance by the Suzette Quartet on the Bulevar José Iturbi in Bailén Miraflores at 1pm. Fronted by one of Malaga's most versatile and established singers, Suzette's energetic stage presence and exciting mixture of soul, funk and jazz has earned a huge following.

Also on Saturday, blues and swing band Anachronic will be in concert in the Parque de la Alegría (Ciudad Jardín) at 4pm.

On 20 December, the quartet led by talented singer and pianist Alicia Tamariz will present their new album, Aletheia, during a concert in the Plaza de la Inmaculada, Churriana, at 1pm.

The performances will continue at 1pm on Saturday 26th in Puerto de la Torre, with a concert by the Belle McNulty Quartet; while at 4pm, the Ana Cisneros Quartet will offer a repertoire of classical jazz and Brazilian music in El Parque Brilliante in Campanillas.

The series will finish with a concert by the Malaga-based Pareja Quartet, led by Bárbara Pareja and Daniel Andrades. The concert will take place in the Plaza de María Santísima de Dolores y Esperanza (Cruz de Humilladero) on Sunday 27 December at 1pm.
