  • The event is celebrated with the turning on of the Christmas lights at the hospice and the lighting of hundreds of candles

Every year the Cudeca Foundation celebrates Christmas with 'Light a Light' in memory of loved ones.

During the event, the Christmas lights decorating the hospice will be turned on by the founder and honorary president of the association, Joan Hunt OBE, and the chief executive and medical director Marisa Martín. This, together with the candles carried by over 300 charity workers, volunteers, friends and employees, presents an amazing sight.

There will also be a visit from Father Christmas, face painting and other activities for children.

The pupils of Sunny View College choir will be entertaining everyone with traditional carols and there will be stalls selling Christmas and other homemade cakes and sweets, savoury items and Cudeca's popular Christmas cards, hand crafted by patients and volunteers. There will also be calendars and lottery tickets as well as a raffle.

If you wish to light a light in memory of your loved one, you can do it at for a minimum donation of 10 euros or at the Hospice Centre on the night of the event.
